UK - manufacturing activity by PMI unexpectedly fell in February to the zone contraction


Activity in the manufacturing sector in the UK in February, according to a survey Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply unexpectedly declined. The observed activity index fell to a contraction to 47.9 points compared to 50.5 points in January. The market expected to report growth in the opposite direction to about 51 points.

Markit Economics survey agency showed the biggest drop in February employment in the manufacturing sector over the last three years. New orders fell the most since last July, export orders fell to 14-month low.

Within the euro area manufacturing sector activity remained unchanged watched index remained 19th month in a row in zone contraction when stagnated at 47.9 points. Index for Germany rose to 50.3 compared to 49.8 points in January and in Italy index fell to 45.8 from January's 47.8 points.

The decline in the growth dynamics of activity in the manufacturing sector also reported in China, where the decline of the index to 50.1 from January's 50.4 points.
Data on the development activities of the manufacturing sector in the U.S. will be released today. The market expects a decline in activity to 52.5 points from 53.1 in January.
