Klaus: The government of Petr Necas let me down, missed their chance

While the outgoing president did not hesitate to reach for the critical words, Prime Minister Necas stood by his position and the proven cooperation with Klaus relished. Vaclav Klaus reminded that in ten years of his presidency, appointed six governments and dozens of ministers. In his own words just to put Nečas Cabinet greatest hopes and regrets had to admit that they were not met. "The government had a chance, which missed," commented Klaus. According to him Nečas suite wasted a strong mandate, which was after the parliamentary elections in 2010.

It Necas countered that despite weakening of his cabinet pushed everything he wanted. "We started with a number of Members, but for one parliamentary party, which is falling apart, dropped. But the government pushed through everything she wanted to assert, of course, not in changes in constitutional law, where we need to deal with the opposition, but that's another story, "he pleaded Necas himself.

The rest of the term political leadership Klaus wished the country to boost the moribund economy and helped increase 'elementary understanding within our country. "Ran as the fact that the popularity of the cabinet is declining because it is not able to explain to citizens the essence enforced laws and reforms.

Klaus also objected to the fact that the president should go to the government - as they regularly about his successor Milos Zeman. "The job of the president is not going to the government, to interfere with her things, here is the separation of powers set by the Constitution. Whether anything could be done, strengthening veto is more symbolic than options impact the development in the country. But I have not the faintest ambition to go to the government, I had meetings with individual ministers, as well as a number of meetings with the Prime Minister, "concluded the outgoing president.

Klaus vetoed legislation that it landed on the table of the House quite often. He did not like such as tax increases or the introduction of the second pillar pension savings. Nor disagreed with church restitution, but the vetoing that - in his words - even more complicate the life of Prime Minister Necas. The paradox is that Klaus mentioned arguments against all laws coincided with what standards blamed the opposition Social Democrats.

Finally, the outgoing head of state definitely make sure that the comments of political life in the country continues, but would instead have the space to devote to them with full force."My Institute Vaclav Klaus is after all about politics, it is about the problems of the country, on its social, economic and any other problems. Institute Had not enter into public policy, it should not exist and should not be a reason for existence.'s Not an academic platform, it's about navigating in a public space, "said Klaus. Institute imagines a version of American presidential libraries, intends to devote publications and commentaries.

The president directly from the Straka Academy went to Brno, where today with his Slovak counterpart Ivan Gašparovič exchanged highest state honors. Vaclav Klaus mandate ends tomorrow, Friday the Castle officially takes Milos Zeman.
