European gas bloodshed - Producers closed due to gas power loss - the problems are in the Czech Republic

EON 3 years ago opened in a new power plant fueled with natural gas combustion. Total for new resource spent about 400 million euros. After two years, he had to scale down its operation to only about 25% this year after three years of operation had energy company still "newish" power plant completely closed, due to its high loss rate caused a significant drop in selling prices of electricity, gas combustion which made prodělečným.

The price of electricity is "negative" signs especially dismal state of the economy declining declining overall demand for electricity, drop in coal prices, which returns this traditional method again to the forefront of producers, the requirements for increasing the volume of production from renewable sources and, last but not least, the de facto collapse of the market in emission permits, inter alia, further favoring the traditional burning of brown coal. The situation is exacerbated by the overall surplus production capacity.

The above example is outlined in the present model. Power stations burning natural gas are concluded with all the leading European producers. Production of gas in power plants is lossy but Germany also in France, Holland, Spain and the Czech Republic. In the UK, on ??the edge of profitability.
The ratio between the cost and selling price of energy produced yesterday reached its minimum. The so-called. spark spreads (= spark spark spread = difference) yesterday reached € -18.3 to MWH. Spark spread for coal-fired power plant is profitable in all European operations.

The share of electricity from gas-fired power plants in Germany last year dropped by 2.3% to 11.3%. The share of "gas" production in France last year dropped by as much as 24%.

UBS analysts said the European energy sector needs to close more than 30% of the old energy sources burning fossil fuels to offset the increase in production from renewable sources as wind and solar power. Closure gas sources will lead this process.

French GDF has already announced that the European scale intends to terminate or freeze produce about 10,000 MWh of electricity. German EON cut off from the network for two gas sources, Centrica plans to shut down at least one gas source in the UK this year. RWE gas resources which now runs only on 50% of installed capacity this year plans a six-month shutdown of two plants. Gas resources in Spain in 2012, ran only for 19% of installed capacity compared to 51% in 2008.

Problems gas power plants are becoming a serious political problem, because politicians need the flexibility of the energy market so that they can be compensated outages in adverse conditions for those who work with renewable resources. Wider dissemination of traditional coal precludes the efforts to regulate the level of the environment, against which traditional coal resources are the most damaging. Gas stations are, however, considered to be one of the cleanest or most environmentally friendly sources.
