Schaeuble: Greek Cypriot government rejected the way through the amortization of bonds and preferred choice bank tax


German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble told ARD television said the Cypriot government refused initially proposed by the Greek way consisting in transferring losses to holders of senior government bonds. According to his comments would be another case of significant depreciation of the bonds could cause problems in some countries issuing new bonds.

Note that the reduction of private holders of Greek sovereign debt written off in the finals of around 50-70% of their face value and carried almost exclusively all direct local effects of the debt crisis.
