ČEZ sells coal power plant Chvaletice Litvínovská for 4.12 billion + price of allowances

CEZ Power Company has used the highest offer he received in the process of selling some of its coal-fired power plants, today signed a contract to sell the power company Chvaletice Litvínovská uhelná sales price amounts to 4.12 billion CZK. ČEZ but also gains annually and 90% of the market price of CO2 allowances allocated free Chvaletice power plant, which will use to further modernize its plant.   It is about 5.3 million tons of allowances totaling approximately CZK 450 million at its current price. The sales process initiated by ČEZ in July last year. Related to Decision ČEZ quickly complete the investigation led by the European Commission since 2009 in the form of so-called settlement (English settlement), under which CEZ pledged to sell one of its coal-fired power plants. The second reason for divestment is that Chvaletice among plants that were not designed in a portfolio of ČEZ long-term operation.

CEZ is in line with its strategy to pursue in the future, only sources with lower emissionsdecided to significantly invest in the Czech Republic only in the reconstruction of the pelvic plants for which CEZ has secured coal from its own resources and, therefore, they are not at risk of commercial disputes. It is a plant in Ledvice, Tušimice and Prunéřov in which CEZ invested so as to comply with all environmental standards, so as to substantially increase their efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions compared to the state and to be capable of operating for many decades.



Chvaletice (total installed capacity of 800 MW) consists of four 200 MW units were put into operation within one year - from late 1977 to late 1978. The turbines are condensing, třítělesové, impulse, with eight steam extraction outlets. Have a nominal output of 200 MW.Boilers are flow, two-tensile, with a dry-fire. Chvaletice thanks to its chimney, which exceeds the height of 300 meters, dominating the eastern Bohemia. Cooling towers are tall about 100 m and their average per country reaches about 60 m

Fuel for the power plant was originally transported Chvaletice combined route (rail to Lovosice, as of water). Since 1996, economic reasons switched to pure railway transport. Unloading is carried out on a rotary tippler. It is transported by belt conveyors and dump it on fuel or directly to the boiler room.
