Czech Mint: How can we protect ourselves before tax bank deposits?

At the weekend, eurozone ministers agreed on a program to help Cyprus. In this framework demanded in exchange for a cash injection of EUR 10 billion disposable taxing bank deposits (9.9% of deposits over € 100,000 and 6.75% at the lower deposits). This step aroused a storm of protest, not only in Cyprus, but in the whole world. It did not help assurances that it is a unique and extraordinary step. On Tuesday, Cypriot parliament rejected the plan. Although the taxation of savings most likely not, Pandora's box was opened, the contents of which may undermine confidence in the banking sector across the European Union. What about bank deposits from us and how we can possibly protect?

"According to statistics of the Czech National Bank in the Czech Republic between the citizens and business owners fairly common practice to keep their savings in bank deposits. In 2004, their value exceeded the 1 billion CZK. In 2012, their value was already about 1.9 trillion CZK to term and demand deposits, "says commercial director of the Czech Mint, Tomasz Surda.

"None of us wants the same development, as occurred in Cyprus. However, prudent investor diversifies its portfolio so as to minimize any risks that may arise. The bank thus holds only the necessary amount of money, called the iron reserve. Physical gold has the advantage that it can not be seized or taxed as easily as cash lying in the bank account. Storage at the Czech Mint, which is a private non-bank entity is bound by a contract that declares the property to the exclusion of any rights of third parties, "offers the opportunity to Surda solution.
